In this interactive yuletide romp, kids are invited to join the fun and help discover the true spirit of Christmas. Through giving, sharing, and the magic of imagination, A Kidmas Carol brings joy to audiences in this all-new show from Puddle of Mud Productions. Don’t be a bah-humbug—grab hold of the Christmas spirit and join us for a merry adventure!

MEET THE TEAM!

TRUUS VERKLEY: CO- CREATOR, PERFORMER, COSTUMES: Truus Verkley is an artist, educator and performer who has been working with children since 2004. She has  created many performances for young audiences in dance and theatre and in 2024 was chosen by ASSITEJ Canada for the prestigious TYA Connections program! Creativity and fun is at the centre of everything she creates, and this what she builds the 'fun-first' foundation of Puddle of Mud Productions on.

 

Truus is also the artistic director of Kompany Family Theatre and has performed all over Canada and abroad with shows such as Planet of the Senses (Bahrain, UAE) many seasons with the Edmonton based company Vinok Worldance, 9 seasons of work performing, choreographing and artistic directing with the Fort Steele Follies and much more!​She also has 4 kids of her own- loves quick changes and candy cane everything!

DELIA BARNETT

CO- CREATOR, PERFORMER, SOUND DESIGN:

Delia Barnett graduated from the BFA Acting Program at the University of Alberta and has gone on to perform in theatre and events for over 13 years.

 

She has worked with Quest Theatre, Puddle of Mud, ATCO Energy Theatre and other children’s theatre companies all over Alberta.

 

A lover of travel, she has performed all over North America from Vancouver to Toronto, NYC to LA, Nashville to New Orleans and more. She is the winner of the Gerald Osborn Playwriting award in 2023 and has been a part of several Sterling Award nominated productions.

SET DESIGN & BUILD: CHAD VON HAGEN

Chad has been working with Puddle of Mud since 2006 in many different capabilities including teaching their MAKE A MOVIE class, building sets, website design and general cheerleading!

PERFORMANCE PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR: Ashtyn Sample:

Ashtyn has been teaching for Puddle of Mud since 2023 and is thrilled to be taking on the performance program instructor (and ghost of Christmas Future) roles. Her love for performing started with sock puppet shows at 6 years old, and she hasn't stopped creating since! Ashtyn completed a degree in Drama at Concordia University of Edmonton with courses specifying in acting, movement, vocal studies, and education. Since graduating, Ashtyn has worked with Kompany Family Theatre touring Alberta with workshops and shows tailored to young audiences and families.
